WHAT IF I DO NOT PASS MY COURSE?

A.  Your American Heart Association CPR course is an open book course.  Most students are able to pass the course seamlessly.  Occasionally a student may not pass the Skills portion or Written exam for the course.  In these instances students have one opportunity to correct their Skills or re-take the Written Exam.  Failure the Skills or Written Exam a second time will result in a course failure and registration in another course will be required.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO IN PREPARATION FOR MY VIRTUAL COURSE?

A.  For the best training experience we suggest that you choose a quiet room, free of background noise that allows for enough floor space for you to be able to place and comfortably administer compressions to the manikin.  You may also place the manikin on a sturdy table, as long the height is comfortable for you to be able to administer proper compressions.  Your camera should be angled so that the entire manikin is visible as well as the participants hand placement.  Must have a reliable internet connection.

DOES MY CAMERA NEED TO BE ON THE ENTIRE TIME?

A.  Video access must available during Skills Practice, Skills Testing, and during the Written Exam.  The camera may be turned off during other times.  We do ask that participants mute their microphone except during the question and answer sections.

I HAVE NEVER DONE VIDEO CONFERENCING BEFORE, IS PREVIOUS VIDEO CONFERENCING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED?

A.  Though prior experience is not necessary, a basic understanding of Virtual Meetings is expected to avoid prolonging the length of the course and be respectful of other students who are participating.
